NEW: RotoRepel™ No-Stick Treatment

Maximizing Uptime

roto-repel.jpgWe are pleased to announce the launch of RotoRepel™ No-Stick Treatment. Now available on Flexible Dies and on solid dies (new and resharpened).
RotoRepel™ features an exclusive technology and formulation that minimizes adhesive pick-up and transfer.

RotoRepel™ has many advantages over the current industry nonstick offerings, including:

• Will not chip or flake
• Lasts 4x longer or more than current industry nonstick coating options
• Works on open adhesives and the most demanding adhesive materials
• Blade profiles remain precise even after being treated with RotoRepel™ because there is no coating buildup
• Dies run longer before any adhesive build-up occurs which minimizes press downtime
• Die cleanup time for storage significantly reduced - ready for the next run

RotoRepel™ has been proven to solve the toughest adhesive challenges. We have had tremendous success on a variety of materials, such as:

• Flexcon V81
• Avery Dennison S333 clear acrylic adhesive
• Mactac MP725 tire adhesive
• 3M 6035 Poron with transfer adhesive
• Raflatac RH15 freezer grade hotmelt
• Various hot melt rubber based adhesives
• and many, many more

Electro Optic and RotoMetrics Merge

to Create World’s Leading Precision Rotary Tooling Company

eo-roto_03_07_17.jpgThis global merger brings together two of the label and printing industry’s strongest brands to offer customers the most comprehensive and highest quality rotary tooling products in the market. The merger also creates unprecedented opportunity for customers to receive the most reliable precision cutting solutions, service and support to enhance their own responsiveness and efficiency anywhere in the world.

Electro Optic invented and perfected critical proprietary flexible die technologies. These innovations opened the door for the industry to convert progressively thinner liner substrates reducing costs and environmental waste. Electro Optic also advanced surface treatments for the longest running thermal transfer applications. RotoMetrics offers the most comprehensive precision converting product line in the world, including precision rotary dies (flexible and solid dies), magnetic cylinders, adjustable anvils, print cylinders, print sleeves, and accessories designed to maximize press productivity. Additionally, with manufacturing and support services on five continents, RotoMetrics offers the broadest global distribution of any precision tooling manufacturer.

Bob Spiller, CEO of RotoMetrics, feels the merger is a natural fit for both businesses, stating “RotoMetrics has been continuously improving our flexible die technology, and we feel the merger is the perfect way to accelerate this product improvement to better serve customers and offer the most superior flexible die product portfolio on the market.”

Erwin Lindl, CEO of Electro Optic, agrees, “Electro Optic has been growing rapidly, and we will be able to realize our vision of stronger global distribution and more rapidly implement our philosophy of superior customer service with RotoMetrics’ international footprint and strong financial backing.” Spiller added, “This merger allows us to take advantage of the best of both organizations to further improve the products and services we offer to customers and partners, while expanding the distribution of these products on a global scale. We look forward to growing the business together as a team.” Each organization brings distinct advantages to the merger from an operating, sales, technical services and manufacturing perspective to better serve customers and partners. In addition, the merger will allow employees in both organizations to scale best practices and develop into new expanded roles to better serve key stakeholders.
RotoMetrics will continue to operate from its global headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri USA with supporting offices across the globe and manufacturing facilities on 5 continents. Electro Optic will continue to operate its global headquarters in Großmehring – Germany and have a supporting office in Mumbai, India servicing India, Asia and Africa, while the Alpharetta, GA USA, manufacturing, service, and support site will continue to service the Americas. Product Launch: The BEVERAGE Die

eo-beverage-die.jpgIt is the future trend of our Gold Line Special "GLS" specifically designed for the production of pressure sentitive Bottle Labels in the style of No-Label look, e.g. film material (PP or PET) on PET liner of ≤19μ (0.75mil). Perfect height parallelism achieved by specially developed processes minimizes the risk of deep cuts into the liner, also when processing thin liner materials on used presses.

As a leading manufacturer of high-precision dies, Electro Optic offers its customers a key competitive advantage based on outstanding quality. Electro Optic also features ultimate Flexible Die Solutions for Fruit and IML Labels as well as for the successful processing of MDO-foils.

All Flexible Dies from the Electro Optic Group are tailored of highly consistent quality to address the cutting ability and longevity requirements of various material challenges.

In Electro Optic you have found a partner who will actively work with you in finding solutions to even the toughest challenges.

New challenge – New quality!

gold-line-special.jpgThe trend for thin liners of PP and PET continues. Due to savings in materials, liners of 20μ and below are used. The label materials have to meet higher standards in terms of abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, dimensional stability, temperature adaptability or tensile strength and toughness. This makes special demands on the precision of all components involved in die cutting. Successful die cutting on ultra thin liners can only be applied when keeping the tolerances in narrowest limits. Electro Optic’s Gold Line Special Quality exactly matches this challenge. Perfect cutting ability and unmatched height paral¬lelism, due to our patented back grinding process, guarantee best cutting results on ultra thin liners.

The great interest at LabelExpo 2012 showed us: Electro Optic is on the right way with its motto “The right die for each application”.
